Vibrant Fall Micro-Wedding featured on Rocky Mountain Bride | Red Lodge, Montana

Updated: Nov 14, 2020

We are so excited that this beautiful couple and their fall mountain wedding were featured on Rocky Mountain Bride's blog! With the intimate outdoor ceremony, fall colors, and stunning golden hour, this was a Montana wedding photographer's dream.

It's not often that you meet someone who simply lights up the room with their smile and personality, and even more rare to find a couple who both possess such charisma. Charlotte and Jordan are that magical pair. Working with them for both planning and photography, we got to know them well, and they're some of the nicest people you'll ever meet - dashingly handsome together, yet humble, caring, and down-to-earth.

As high school sweethearts, Charlotte and Jordan have been together for almost a decade. So, when Jordan proposed, they didn't feel the need to have an extravagant wedding. They wanted to celebrate their love in a way that is genuine to who they are and what they care about.

Did we mention that these are two of the most rugged outdoors-people we know? For both, an ideal weekend involves fly fishing or hunting, no matter the weather. Having a fall Montana wedding just made sense - adding another amazing memory to their favorite time of year.

They chose a ceremony location that was special to them and their relationship - a gorgeous piece of state land outside Luther, Montana, where they regularly hunt together. It was the place Charlotte got her first deer with her dad, and where she took Jordan for one of their first hunting dates.

You can't describe the experience any better than the way the couple put into words for their ceremony:

"We usually spend our time concerned with the routine of daily living. We wake up, go to work, eat lunch, and watch TV. We worry, plan, work, and drive. But for a few moments every so often, we get to experience something transcendent. When we witness pure beauty, and we pause, amazed. We revel in the feelings, deep and beyond words, indisputable and timeless. It leaves us breathless, fulfilled and amazed...

"Jordan and Charlotte experience that when they see the beauty of nature. In their eyes, there is something more than the trees and the meadows and the rocks; there is something deep, sacred, and more striking. When they witness the mountains together, it evokes awe and splendor. It is indescribable and immense. This is the same feeling that they discovered by falling in love with one another."

"When you are in love, you get to grab a piece of transcendence and take it with you in your daily life. You don't have to trek to a river valley or to a top of a mountain to feel something important and indescribable; you can feel the beauty and enormity of the mountains within your own heart. And that is really why we are here today. Because love is enormous, and to take even a tiny piece into yourself and be able to experience and understand it is the greatest gift in the world."

On their special day, Charlotte and Jordan gave their loved ones the gift of this same feeling.
